Pastoral Support
Worcestershire LMC has set up a comprehensive pastoral care team with many years’ experience of defence bodies, NHSE and GMC procedures and is able to provide personal and confidential support for individual GPs in difficulty or experiencing major change.
For example it can include helping an individual GP through difficulties linked to contractual, financial or performance concerns and signposting to other professionals where appropriate. Further support including attendance at performance meetings and/or support getting appropriate medical care when required can also be provided.
I cannot stress enough how important it is for colleagues to contact our pastoral team for help as early as possible when difficulties arise so that as much support as possible can be provided.
In the first instance contact us in confidence at our dedicated email help@worcslmc.co.uk.
Mediation Service
We can also offer a mediation service via our colleague Dr Clare Sieber.
Clare is a CEDR-accredited commercial and workplace mediator and gained a distinction-level qualifying law degree whilst working as a GP. Clare sits on the BMA's General Practitioners' Committee and is therefore well-versed on the details of the GP contract and PCN DES.
She has supported many partnerships, PCNs and practice employees to resolve their differences or end their relationship on the best possible terms.
Clare only mediates disputes in healthcare settings, with a focus on those in primary care such as GP partnership, PCN, GP practice workplace disputes, and disputes between a patient's family and the clinical team.
GP Safe House Project – I am waiting for feedback on this because I have asked if we can use this on our site as part of our pastoral section.
