GP Partnership Vacancy

  • 3 min read

The planned retirement of the senior partner will create a vacancy for a full-time partner – 7 clinical sessions / 1 admin session per week.  However, to ensure the right person is joining us, we would consider a 6 or 7 session commitment.

Who we are

The clinical team consists of two GP partners, 2 salaried GPs, an ANP, an ACP, 3 practice nurses, 2 HCAs, a phlebotomist, and 2 clinical pharmacists.  We have experienced and well-led admin/reception, dispensary and management teams to provide support across all areas of surgery activity.

In addition, we have an excellent Care Co-ordinator and access to a range of other ARR staff through the Vale of Evesham PCN.

We are in a purpose-built surgery within the village of Bredon, with beautiful rural views and ample parking.  Although we are a South Worcestershire practice, part of our area falls within Gloucestershire – we are just 4 miles from the historic town of Tewkesbury.  This gives our patients the benefit of being able to access services at Gloucester and Cheltenham hospitals, as well as those in Worcestershire.

We use the EMIS clinical system and increasingly make use of on-line consulting, telephone consultations and text messaging.  We allow 15 minutes for face-to-face consultations and 10 minutes for telephone calls – although extended appointments are available if appropriate.

We have 5650 patients, with approximately 90% eligible to have their medicines provided by our dispensary.  The surgery is an important part of village life and we enjoy a positive relationship with our Patient Participation Group.

QOF achievement has always been high, and we take part in a wide range of other funding schemes, for example CEIF, LES/DES and IIF, independently or through the PCN.

Our rating with the CQC is “Good”.

We are proud to be a Veteran Friendly Practice.

Why Bredon?

We are looking for a new colleague who is interested in all aspects of being a partner in general practice.  Being smaller means that everyone in the team has a voice in how we change and develop our services – giving plenty of scope for individuals to focus on areas that have a particular interest in.

Having interests outside of the Practice is encouraged and we would be pleased to hear from anyone who sees partnership as the next step in developing a wider portfolio.

To assist with this, there would be access to the excellent local “Partnership Development Programme” which provides remote learning sessions, covering a range of non-clinical skills, and networking opportunities/peer support with other new partners.

Bredon is within easy reach of the Forest of Dean, Cotswolds and Malvern Hills.  The M5 motorway gives quick access to the Midlands, the South West and Wales.  Bredon and the surrounding villages are situated in beautiful countryside with many amenities and activities within easy reach.

This is a great area to live for those with families, or anyone wanting to enjoy life in a rural community with easy access to the wider world.

There is so much more we would like to tell you about us, the surgery, our patients and how we work.  To find out more, please contact our Practice Manager, Angela Maile angela.maile@nhs.net.  An informal visit or discussion with one of the partners can be arranged prior to application if requested.
