Vacancy for LMC Committee Representative for Worcester City Constituency.

This vacancy has arisen following the recent election process in which nominations were requested for candidates in the Worcester City constituency.
Patient numbers within this constituency require us to have 3 committee members to effectively represent the area. As a result of the election process 2 candidates have successfully been appointed, leaving a 1 vacant seat. In this instance our election process and our constitution requires us to proactively advertise the vacancy with a view to co-opting a GP representatives onto our committee to ensure that all 6 constituencies within our county are adequately represented.
The LMC is the only independent body whose primary role is to promote and protect the interests and welfare of all GPs working in the County.

Responsibilities:
A full job description is available upon request but the main commitments of the role are listed below:
Have a sound knowledge of General Practice contracts.
Maintain knowledge of local policies and issues affecting their constituents.
Be aware of national issues affecting the whole profession and their impact locally.
Respond promptly to all communications, including emails, whether from the LMC office, constituents, or other organisations.
Agree to represent the Committee in an area of expertise if reasonably requested to do so.
Accept key responsibilities in defined areas where they have specialist knowledge, if agreeable.
